Also, Shane, I like how you've captured two pieces so far.
You're doing great! I'm rooting for you all the way! ;D [/quote]
Um...
I don't think that's a good idea.
There's most definitely a 99.99% chance that I'll lose in a most
embarrassing way. :P
Okay, that 99.99% is an exaggeration, but still. :P
It could go either way.

Why'd you move your pawn instead of capturing the Rook first?
You'd have gotten the King in check if you moved Bishop from c5
to f2 if the king was on g1.

Um.
Strategy?
Using the ability of moving his pieces around to force me to
rethink my plans?
Asking the Purple Karjam for help? :P
Okay, that last one is possible in fictional worlds. :P
Seriously, though, I'd say KarjamP has more skill than I have;
it's been years since I've last played chess, as I have said
before.
I think it was 2005 or 2006 when I last played chess, I'm not
sure. I'm gonna have to search the TV Tropes threads for that.
EDIT:
Yep, 2005.
So says this post

Well, if I'm doing well, I'll probably lose. :P
From past experience (of other board games), whenever I did well
I always lost. (Except in some card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! or

Or perhaps that all was just a coincidence? :))

Shane, the point about Chess (and any other strategy games) is
to not reveal your plans to the opponent, even if you're
actually talking to Taylor.
Because then, I can read up your plan and counter against it.
I didn't read it, of course (except the sentence where you've
stated you're planning to sacrifice your bishop), but still...

Um.
I never mentioned what my back-up plan was :P
And it never included the sacrifice of a Bishop, and neither did
the original one.
I only mentioned a possibility, however: I took note of the
Rook's location, and figured that if I were to take it
immediately I'd lose a Bishop.
As for Taylor's question, she had asked why I didn't just take
it, and why I just moved my Pawn instead.
I did it solely for the purpose of a back-up plan that has to be
amended drastically.
Unless, of course, I missed something in the previous posts, in
regards to the plans you were talking about.

He was only talking about what would happen if he had taken the
Rook instead of moving his Pawn like he did.
Also, telling your opponent about your plans and still
succeeding would make things interesting. That's what I think.
(Then again, regarding Chess... well, you can tell I tend to
favor offensive tactics :P)
