Inspired by the lists of computers[1,2,3,4,5,6] and
computer-naming[7,6,8,9,10] threads going 'round, I was going to ask the
Phlogosphere, what's in your handbag? And then kvothe beats me to
it[11]. Like computer names, I feel this reveals fascinating things
about people's characters.
First of all, glad you're feeling better than yesterday, kvothe.
Second, wow, you carry a lot of stuff (compared to me).
Here's what's usually in my handbag:
Bifold leather wallet with coin pocket
This is the third wallet I've ever owned. The first one I got rid of
because it made me look like a teenager and I wasn't one anymore; the
second one I stopped using when the Velcro wouldn't keep it shut. My dad
has it now.
Key wallet
As well as keys, it contains a small pocket knife:
Pocket knife
One of the smallest ones, about the same length as a key. It has a
knife blade, scissors, nail file, tweezers, toothpick. I think I use
the nail file more than the knife blade.
Nokia something-or-other telephone
I don't know what model it is. It can send texts.
Carry bag
Yes, I keep a bag in my bag. Good for shopping.
Lip balm
The beeswax stuff.
Paracetamol, antihistamine, menthol lozenges
Not things I need every day, but things it sucks to not have when I do
need them.
And, optionally, my diary[12].
I don't know if that reveals anything fascinating about my character.
After all, I think I'm pretty normal. (Actually, that is a lie. I
don't.)
