It's practically stock volume level now. Kind of annoying really
- I feel like I'm disconnected from what the car is doing. If I
have the radio at any listening level, it drowns out the exhaust
completely.
I'm heading out to Grand Rapids tomorrow night, should be in
town by thurs morn, gonna go look for places to work and a small
apartment but I doubt my actual move will be until spring. I
gotta get my E30 in proper running order before I come out for
good.

You should check out streets of Detroit this weekend then.

That's the main reason why I picked this weekend to come out.

Finally got the car to an event this weekend. I need moar power
but I think my next addition is a hydraulic handbrake.
These aren't my videos, found them on instagram.

Nice man. I bet you don't need a ton more power for now but if
you lose those heavy ass steelies from the back and/or step the
diff up you'll be in a little better shape.

I love my steelies! But seriously, I do. They're part of my
design. Yeah I know "unsprung weight" blah blah blah, "3x the
effect" yada yada... it's just a price I'm willing to pay to
walk up to a car I'm satisfied looking at. But interesting you
bring up my dif. I actually love welded difs for drifting. So
predictable. Definitely sucks for daily driving but I've never
felt that it holds me back when I'm sideways. If anything it
feels like the opposite. When I get my good dif in my E30 I'll
find out if I'm wrong.

I am by no means saying lose the steelies (I'm a big fan of
large steroids) for daily driving but a set of cheap aluminum
wheels on the rear would benefit you for drifting. Also I bring
up the diff not because of welded vs lsd but what ratio are you
running? My guess is if its the one that came in the car it is
like 3.23 or so. If you went up to like a 3.91 less power is
required to break the wheels loose.

Oh I'm running 3.46's for gears. Yea, it came with 3.23's but it
was one of the first things I swapped out. But honestly, I'm
thinking it was a bad idea. 1st gear is almost non-existant so I
never use it and 3rd gear is almost pointless except for
accelerating to highway speed really quick. For daily driving I
only use 2nd, 4th and 5th and the highway is ridiculous -
3,500RPM to do 72mph - I definitely need an OD gear so a 6-speed
is in the plans but that will just mean 5th gear will be
completely pointless. At least I can use 1st for hard launches
and 3rd for that run onto the highway but what am I ever gonna
need 5th for? If I ever turbo this thing, I'm prolly gonna put
the 3.23's back in.
