LabPartner's WaPo Subscription
By: animaniactoo Date: January 17, 2025, 9:16 am

It was recently suggested to me that the forum fund should pick
up the cost of Lab's WaPo subscription as his access and work to
summarize the letters is why we have them available to discuss.
As these are community funds, I am putting that to vote.

I never really thought about it before, but I now think that I
pay WAPO so that I don't have to learn how to use Paypal.
Because if all y'all start paying my subscription, my second
generation Polish-American Chicago Catholic guilt would require
me to pay that much to the operating funds account here. That
would require learning how to use Paypal. So ...

Fortunately for you... I don't accept PayPal. :P
Shaddap and sit down. This is being voted on. ;D

Can we include a Times puzzles and games subscription in this
deal as payment for his tireless services?

I'm torn here. It sounds like Lab is uncomfortable with it, so
we shouldn't push that, but I also think that oreally has a
point that we should do something as payment for the consistent
summary/posting of the columns.
So torn.
I vote to do whatever make LabPartner most comfortable.

For the record, if you call WaPo before your subscription
expires and ask for a promotional rate or if they have other
discounts, they have (historically) granted it. I generally pay
about $40 a year. Sometimes it's been as low as $19, but that
was before 2020. I've never paid full price.

I voted YES, purchase Labs subscription. Its the least we can
do for the prompt and faithful service we receive daily.
[member=46]LabPartner[/member] - I cant word it as verbosely as
CH or as snarkily as MM would, but I think their advice would be
if somebody wants to do something nice for you to show their
appreciation, let them and say, Thank you for your kindness.

When I canceled my subscription they immediately offered a much
lower rate.
Also, just an FYI to Lab, I don't do PayPal but send cash to Ani
directly with zelle. I know some people are reluctant to use it.
I signed up for it with my bank and I only send money to people
I know and I send it from my bank. Not through email.
