One year ago, on August 20, I went to the vet, and I came home
without my dog. Dakota was my first dog. In another 6 days,
she'd have been running my life for 10 years. The day we went
was her 12th birthday. I miss that little sweetheart so much,
but it was the right time to release her from her pain and
discomfort.

Why am I crying now?
I�m so sorry for your loss. I understand but no one can know how
you feel, because it�s different for every loss, for each
person.
I�ll be thinking of you and Ziva today.💕 As well as that
goofball Dakota face behind the grass tuft.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Lurk.
The tuft of grass has never grown back. I guess it served its
purpose.
Ziva needs her nails clipped. I tried to make an appointment for
Monday, but they couldn't accommodate her until today. So I'm
going to the vet again on August 20, but this time, the dog is
coming home, too.

Well, I initially gave a 🌈 rating, for, you know,
rainbow bridge, but then saw that�d be inappropriate, for it
means something else here, so� oh never mind. I know it�s late
and we�re weary. And I�m no longer making sense. You take care.
And I guess it�s good you have to focus on extra stuff for Ziva
the Diva today, for a pedi.

Oh, sending you so many hugs.
It took me a full five years before I could talk about my last
dog, also a black lab, without crying.
And then at almost exactly the five year point, we adopted
another dog. We've had her over four years now. We had agreed
we weren't going to get another dog, evidently we were lying.
As one of my friends said, "It never seemed like it was really
your house without a dog."
Love the picture of Dakota hiding behind the grass clump. I
remember when you posted it over on Hax. Hugs...
