Happy New Year!
Just a quick note today since my day off is waning fast. I
probably should make a bunch of excuses as to why I haven't
written as of late, but they're just that. Excuses. Needless to
say, I am a bit sad that I hadn't worked up the gumption to post a
ROOPHLOCH entry for 2021, but even some of my old standbys became
walls of additional work to debug and overcome. There's always
next year (this year) and I had tossed around some ideas with one
of our local sundogs that I should probably work on before the
crunch this time.
Sadly, one of the reasons that got me down was learning of a
amateur radio friend who became a silent key. He was the first
contact I had made when I keyed up a local repeater, and was well
known in the region, running several nets and generally being a
pleasant and helpful person on the airwaves. This is to you, Doug:
you will be missed.
