The Silent Killer of Phones
===========================
The other day I came accross a question about Android 15 on Ars Technica.
I checked my phone, and found that my Android version is still 11.
From web searches, I found that Xiaomi is not going to push any more
upgrades to my phone.
There are custom ROMs for some Android phone, and I'm looking for something
I can install on mine. Most of the relevant search results are links to
forum discussions. I also have found a guide at
https://www.getdroidtips.com/android-13-redmi-10a/ for installing AOSP
on Redmi 10A, but when I go to the section "Download Android 13 ROM",
I find is a link to a forum in a language that looks like Russian to me.
I don't see anything I can understand there. Random links lead me to other
discussion in Russian. Why? The page referring me to that forum is in
English.
At least I've found that I don't have to use a Chinese MIUI I can get myself
the European version. Following is a link to their page:
https://miuirom.org/updates/europe
That's it. The end of the phone's life cycle is a-coming. and I don't get
any notification.
If the phone becomes a paper weight, I can buy a new one from a shop.
Hopefully, my next phone will not be a standard Android phone, but a
Fair-phone or something with /e/OS installed on it.
It's time to install ADB in case the phone is bricked.
