The Shield Application
======================
Our ministry of health has developed an application to track
people who might have the Corona. It is translated to The Shield
application. I don't like how some people are in favor of making
this application mandatory. What the heck? The authorities are not
allowed to tell me what technologies to use. They can't make me
purchase a smartphone.
I like calling that application "Vic Mackey application" after
the nice bald man with the blue eyes from The Shield.
Oh, sorry, the nice bald man with the blue eyes is Michael Chicklis;
Vic Mackey is a brutal and corrupt cop.
Of course I have to find better arguments against the application than
"they're invading my privacy!".
I like listening to a podcast instead of the pro-establishment people.
The podcast is made by Dr. Yuval Dror, a technological sociologist.
The last short lecture I heard from him is about the question if an
application can save us from diseases. The doctor explains that you
should not count on cellular applications because of to main reasons:
1. False Positive - because you have received a transmission from too
big a distance.
2. False Negative - not getting a notification though you were around
an infected person who has not taken a phone with him/her.
The second option may be cool if you do not develop any symptoms, and
therefore are free.
