Social Engineering Victims

Another post on Mastodin from a user whose father has fallen
victim to pig butchering. The best way to deal with such attacks
is to educate users to simply ignore messages and to get callers
off the phone if the attack is by phone. You don't prevent those
attacks with a firewall because firewalls don't stop dragons[1].
You know that you should simply get rid of callers and delete
messages? Do you report those scams?
Well, no matter how tech-savvy you are, you may have someone in
your family who falls for them.
I know that I or one of my relatives may be next, but meanwhile
I sense an SEP (Someone Else's Problem) field around me.
