Google Does Not Need More PR
============================
Wow. I've found somebody praising Google's search engine on LinkedIn, and
for what? The methods of solving a quadratic equation had appeared in the
results of a search query! Wow!
Among the ways to solve the equation, I have not seen the important one:
completing the square, a method on which the famous formula is based.
That's a good opportunity to promote another the search engine I use:
DuckDuckGo - privacy made simple. And I think that not finding the solution
in the result page is better, because I get a link to a site where the work
is done, and which is not a Google site.
Why not give the credit to the people who actually do the work?
In addition, I've registered myself to a webinar via Meetup. There are some
discussion there on the event page. One of them is about the time zone.
Someone has suggested to use some google service to find the local time at the
asker's location, but I decided to suggest trying to add an event to a calendar
application, such as a mail-client.For example, when I use Thunderbird to add a
new event, I see a link with my time-zone; if I click it, I see a drop down
menu from which I can select the item "More Timezones", then I can select a
different time zone.
I can do it offline without the tech giant or a cellular application.
