Holidays, War, Technology
=========================
We are now in the Jewish month of Tishrei - a month of holidays that begin
with the Jewish new year's day. The tenth day is the day of atonement,
Yom Kippur. And on this year's someone has decided to organize a prayer
in Dizengoff Circle. Some didn't like it because the prayer was supposed
to be in gender segregation with partition. For some, it is a reason to
protest. I was in another city, and went to pray at the conservative
synagogue with no segregation. I think I am good enough a citizen
without going to disruptive protests.
There were more prayers and protests in the some place during Sukkot.
I had other things to do. I think that technology is by far more
interesting.
A war on Israel began on last Saturday, the morning of Simchat Torah.
Hamas terrorists infiltrated. Hundreds of people got killed including
childern and senior citizens.
Don't those terrorists have better things to do? Why not deciding to
desert once they got into Israel. leave the dictatorship behind and
start a new life? Isn't technology by far more interesting than
killing innocent people and maybe getting killed?
I have installed Termux on my Android phone, so I can use ssh and
sftp to access it from my desktop via Wi-Fi. And I have a good VNC
viewer. I hope I will find the way to open links copied om my phone
in firefox opened on my desktop.
I also started a journey to integrate a rational function. there's
a little problem with LyX's GUI, so I'm editing a TeX document in
emacs.
A great place to learn TeX is Wikibooks
(
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX). You can compile your work
then using the command:
latexmk -pdf <your text file>
I remember how glad I was to be discharged from military service
and start academic studies.
So, don't you think technology is by far more interesting than
fighting us?
