We're now living in a construction site. The roof of our house is being slightly lifted and better insulated, and more windows and a toilet will be installed, during several weeks of works. Last week, I've been on vacation, but it was mostly packing and moving items and furniture. No phlogging or hobbying! Now I try to recover at work...
As the floor and walls will be rebuilt, we allowed the kids to draw and paint on them after the rooms were emptied. They installed the model train, marked airports and airstripes for their LEGO planes, and for the first time wrote names surrounded by hearts on the wall -- but then painted black over them. Seems like a common theme for graffiti! ^-^
There was a strange moment yesterday morning, when a guy was at the door announcing he had come to drill the hole for the new stove through the wall of the living room -- although we had not yet received all the offers for the stove!
Our architect could stop him, fortunately.
Now the works are on hold for two days, because after having done nothing during an entire year, the city has decided to finish the construction work on our road right now we're starting with our roof. Spot-on planning.
