02/20/24 - Introductions, and self inserts

It's a late night. Today's one of my days off, and I'm fortunate to
have been able to spend it inside, relaxing and working on my Zaibatsu
pages. I'm almost done now; just a couple more sections I'd like to
write, a few details to adjust. I'm happy with it. Every web presence
I've started up to now has progressively gotten simpler and simpler,
until now; I've arrived at something that just might be sustainable,
with peers to be inspired by.

I spent a lot of my youth in chatrooms, roleplaying characters. It
began with real juvenile stuff, back before I was even double digits,
graduated into more intricate universes I shared with friends; and it
lives on today, in the form of Dungeons and Dragons sessions I have
weekly with close friends.

I think that's why I want the root of my capsule to follow the Zaibatsu
theme so strongly: an homage to a time where my deepest expression was
always through characters carefully crafted to represent me, in small
communities online.

I realized while writing this that I totally forgot about and missed
tonight's d&d session. I quickly jumped online, only to find that
somehow, the three other friends in my group did, too. No worries.

It's a good night. I'm going to continue writing.

I leave you with this - a short introduction I wrote for my asylum
request into the Zaibatsu.

A small, self-propelled modular transporter arrives unannounced.
It only begins communication with the Zaibatsu just before contact,
computational handshakes completed moments before robotic limbs stretch
to greet one another. No time is wasted by the transporter - its cargo
is ejected immediately after the docking procedure is complete.

Haphazardly spiralling through air, struggling to upright themselves,
is a young man in their early 20s. Long, curly hair stretches in all
directions from underneath a loose hood now failing to conceal their
face - tanned and androgynous, dark eyes beginning to narrow in focus.
Grabbing onto a loose panel of lunar steel, they manage to steady
themselves in the freefall, and begin floating through to customs.
