National Prayer (zaibatsu.circumlunar.space), 03/24/2020
------------------------------------------------------------
(Arguments about the legitimacy of National Days of Prayer
have been fought in the courts. I'm writing to talk about
public reaction to them. My belief is that an open
invitation to pray, extended to all faiths of any kind, is
a good thing. Others disagree; to them, I'd request that
they ignore me and not take offense, if possible.)
On 3/14 the POTUS declared a National Day of Prayer in
relation to the coronavirus pandemic[1].
I didn't hear about it once, from any source public or
private.
To be honest, I'm disappointed that I didn't hear about it
from my own church. But, unless they're out reading the
Federal Register, I suppose they may not have heard about it
either.
I'm a praying sort of person. I pray for my leaders (in all
parties, at all levels, of any variety) every day. I pray
for friends who have struggles, including friends in pubnix
space, and friends on gopher. I would have like to have
joined with everyone of any background, in prayer.
I guess it's up to me to scan the register more frequently.
Another script to write, hopefully they have some kind of
feed!
