I want to understand how zlg  feels in his recent post about
gopher  hole hierarchies[1].  My understanding  based on  my
reading is that he (I think it's a he, the about page didn't
say)  feels that  people over-engineer  their gopher  holes,
making them less pleasant to use.

Honestly, I'd love to have all  my posts in one place, but I
feel like there are too many for that to make sense. zlg has
60 items in  his phlog folder, from 2016 to  present. I have
40 items  in last month's folder  alone, and 26 so  far this
month. I  could blab less... otherwise,  the hierarchy makes
sense to me.

Of course, zlg's phlog post doesn't call me out or anything,
but I'm actually a little annoyed  at my phlog setup, so I'm
projecting his comments onto myself  on purpose. Hand me the
flail, please!

Looking  at  the other  side  of  the  coin, my  method  for
consuming gopher  media consists  mainly of  Bongusta[2] and
other lists via VF1[3] with  the "tour" command. Which means
that I  generally am not  caught up in  people's structures;
every once  in a while  a bongusta entry  will take me  to a
higher level  of someone's phlog,  and I have to  drill down
one or  two levels to get  the content, but with  VF1's tour
command, it  doesn't mess  up my  flow, so  I don't  mind so
much. If I  was using lynx or UMN Gopher,  it would probably
be a lot more hassle.

I'm hopeful  that zlg will  perhaps post again with  an idea
for  somewhat high-ish  volume  phlogs... I'd  love to  hear
about it,  even if  re-organizing broke  all the  links once
again.
