xmanmonk shared some of his mind's machinations on the hex
of Saturn[1][2]. I don't know if it's offensive or what,
but when xmanmonk writes, I think of the movie "A Beautiful
Mind." Certainly that doesn't really address the challenges
that xmanmonk must have, but I can't help thinking of it.
Before the post above, I hadn't really heard of the hexagon
of Saturn. I'm not much of an astronomer (though, I have
been to see the observatory where Pluto was discovered, and
it was a blast.) Space is absolutely fascinating. Thanks,
xmanmonk, for brining up an interesting bit of the universe.
As for whether or not "the hex" is a manufactured structure,
I have no idea. Supposedly scientists have been able to
simulate various geometric patterns with fluid dymaics or
something, but that's not definitive proof that the hex
isn't manufactured, just that it could be natural. I, for
one, absolutely believe that there is life out there,
somewhere.
Look at Christianity- doesn't it automatically necessitate
life outside of our earth? I mean, if God is out there
somewhere, and he came here and made and earth and slapped
Adam and Even down on it, what does that mean for life
elsewhere? I suppose it depends on what people think about
the nature of God- maybe he's no where and everywhere at
the same time (though, this is not what I believe.)
I don't have anything intelligent to say on the subject,
I'm just rambling. But I believe in life out there. I
have no idea how far, or what they're up to, but I
believe they're there.
Has anyone seen the movie "Fire in the Sky?"[3] It's a
supposedly true story of an alien abduction, just a few
miles from where I live. I think it happened in the 70s
or thereabouts, I don't really know. People have talked
about it a little here and there. I should probably
watch it some time, and maybe visit the spot where the
supposed abduction took place.
