It finally happened... Jury Duty 02/09/22
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it  finally happened. I've  been summoned  for jury duty.  I was
wondering how  long it  would take!  My wife  has been  summoned three
times, I  believe, maybe  four. She  even served  in a  wrongful death
trial, which ended  in a mistrial. But they've skipped  over me for my
entire adult life.

I always figured it was due to  my hopeless pile of radical biases and
dubious associations.  I thought I was  on some sort of  list. Doesn't
the  government have  those??  They have  to  be wise  to  me by  now,
seriously.

I start on Feb  28, but they haven't told me how long  they want me to
be available. My guess is that I'll  be booted out of there in no time
flat; not  because I'm going  to make up some  excuse (I'm not,  and I
don't have  any valid ones,)  but rather, because they'll  quickly see
that I'm not fit to judge my peers.

No  matter what  happens, now  I can  join the  happy throngs  who get
recognized by their government  as upstanding and contributing members
of society!
