Your in range                                                 07/12/23
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was at  the WallyMart the other  day, parked next to  a dusty pickup
truck. As I was leaving, I noted a sticker on the truck's back window.
It was  shaped like  a scope  crosshair, and  was surrounded  with the
words (curved along the top and bottom):

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS"
"YOUR IN RANGE"

I suppose the implication there is that if a person is close enough to
read the  sticker, a  person inside  the vehicle  will shoot  them. Or
perhaps  the  implication is  only  that  someone inside  the  vehicle
*could* shoot them.

Never mind that somehow a sticker was  conceived,  produced, sold, and
purchased without anyone apparently  noticing that "YOUR" doesn't mean
"YOU ARE". What is an "in range", and do I have one? How do they know?
Why is this sticker  talking about my in range? What  does my in range
have to do with reading the sticker?
