Anonymous Gopher Update                                       10/31/23
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Want to  have a completely anonymous  gopher hole? Connect via  ssh to
the Red Consensus:

ssh [email protected]

Previously, your IP  was logged by the system's  rsyslog server... but
that is no longer the case. At  the behest of a friend, who noted that
people who care  about anonymity *care about log files*,  I took a few
minutes and updated the  rsyslog.conf, filtering out messages relating
to the redcon  user. Now, no IP is recorded  on connect or disconnect,
nor is anything recorded  in the logs at all during  the course of the
session.

This change only  impacts the redcon user. All  other hacking attempts
are logged (I  know because they were streaming by  as I was testing).
This, of course,  doesn't matter at all, because I'm  not watching the
logs  anyway. If  you're in  the  mood to  attempt to  hack in,  knock
yourself  out (that's  part of  the  fun of  placing a  system on  the
internet).

Visit the Red Consensus on gopher[1] if you want to know more.
