Hello everyone, I am fmoon and this is my first ever gopherhole and
phlog. As such I had a few problems getting started with gophermaps
but if I got this correctly now the main issues were inserting the
host and port entries as well as ending a line with ^M which I found
out can be input in vim by holding ctrl + v and then m.
Also a gophermap should end in a line with a single dot.
After getting that out of the way let me say that I've been aware of
gopher for maybe 3 to 4 years and circumlunar.space is the host which
made me more interested in all this. A themed community with a joint
goal of using simple tools? 'Count me in!', I thought. Though all
these years I never managed to get serious about it, finally I
noticed that space in the Zaibatsu has become available and here I am.
While I've also been a user over at SDF and its EU server, I am looking
to spread myself out a bit and I really like the initiative people have
taken in fostering this loosely coupled tildeverse community.
