Marlene Dietrich - emergency Dinner and Beef Tea

Open a can of tuna fish. Pour oil from the can into a frying pan.
(Spring water? Use cooking oil instead) Cut a shallot very fine.
Cut a skinned tomato very fine, leaving out the seeds.Braise all
in the oil. When tender add the tuna from the can.  Turn gently
with a wooden spoon. Salt and Pepper. A bit of cream. If you
want. Make a coupel of slices of toast. Put them on a plate and
put the contents of the pan onto them. A glass of white wine
with this. Beer is good too.

Beef Tea
Liquid steaks. Ideal food for the convalenscent, children lacking
appetite, weak and old people.

Four pounds round stak cut in cubes put in a mason jar. Heat the
closed jar in a pot of water slowly boiling for four hours. The
liquid you will find in the jar is enough food for a daily ration
of a grown-up. You can add salt and pepper for the healthy, dilute
it with water for hcildren, adding vegetable salt. Use while fresh.
