By definition the sovereign is above the law, he who decides the schmittian exception. I don't know who is sovereign in the US beyond that they have some relationship to the federal reserve. This person or these people do not believe in the law of the US and are clearly not bound by it. You can tell this because they regularly deploy subordinates who violate both the letter and the spirit of the law.
Are some people punished, eventually, for their actions? Yes but the greater program continues. It is clear that whoever is sovereign has a vision for this country and its people that is not in their interests and the law will not stop them from executing this vision.
