ok so if anyone is interested, after several reinstalls, different hw and
sw components i found the problem, and it was.....tadaaam:::

BINKD!

this version randomly freezes OS/2 Warp 4.52 server:

Compilation flags: gcc (klibc), zlib, bzlib2, https, ntlm, amiga_4d_outbound, bw lim. "

so i've reverted to binkd/0.9.2 and as you can see my tagline, now it is
freeeeeakin' awesome! :)
