the first thing i would do would be to test the memory with memtest86+... make
sure you use the one with the '+'... let it run several full loops... if that
comes out OK, then reseating the cards and pushing on any socketed chips to be
sure they are all the way in... i might also consider to use the HD
manufacturer's non-destructive drive test to make sure there's nothing wrong
with the drive... somewhere in there, the power supply should also be
considered... it doesn't take too much of a voltage problem on one of the rails
to cause weird problems...
