Quoting Scott Little on Mon 6 Jan 2003 16:56 to Jan Vermeulen:

JV>>     I may still have my off day, 'coz I did not see any new features,
JV>> no more ease and my screen is still as dull as it was before. All I
JV>> saw was more room for the same data.

sl> Because you said "convert this" so you were given some demos...

And the result was a flood of additional characters and empty space...

JV>>     In another posting I have explainend what logistic problems can be
JV>> expected from the dual nodelist project you propose.

sl> I expect that to be more of a problem (if any) in your zone than
sl> the rest...

Could well be so, with over 75% of the Fidonet population.

JV>>     I would have liked it to be different and thus I will continue to
JV>> find ways of improvement, step by step in order not to break the net.

sl> Perhaps you can outline your vision for step by step improvement...

   I'm working on that.

sl> without making the nodelist bigger,

The evarage increase per /affected/ node should not be more than 15%,
probably much less in those cases were a few caracters would suffice.

sl> without making it incompatible with existing nodes...

Assuring that will take a lot of care and require additional steps to be
made.

sl> ... and all your other beefs.. ?

How would you know that I'm not a vegaterian who would take offence from
this expression?
