The "big deal" about the "name field" in the Nodelist was that some
programs were written to generate "BBS" lists from the Nodelist.

Since in the beginning of Fidonet most Nodes did operate a BBS (almost
a requirement to get a Node number), The BBS name in the "Node Name"
field was a "big deal".

In a technical sense, it makes no difference. The field is "just
another field" and could be defined anyway desired.
