Both bands exist.  Creed and Alterbridge.  The difference in lineup is only the
vocalists.  Scott Stapp in Creed and Miles Kennedy in Alterbridge.

There was a time when Creed was broken up and Scott had a solo project.  That
is also the time when Alterbridge formed.

It is true that Scott was distanced from the band for various issues, including
drugs.  Mark Tremonti and company are clean as an arrow and about the most down
to earth band members I have ever met.  I even got to play a game of ping-pong
with Mark after the show in Phili, PA.
