Pete and Rev, I agree with both of you and the sentiments you
expressed. However (there's always an however!), at the risk of
getting flamed in a Monty Python group, I never thought of any of the
Python troupe as geniuses. Very funny (silly!) guys, yes. But
geniuses, no. Benny Hill, on the other hand, I've always considered a
genius. As a comedian he was a one man wrecking crew. He could do it
all and with an ease that was positively frightening. The only
Pythoner that came close, imho, was Eric Idle.
