Subj : What is Brians mother afraid of? and Day of the Doom

In the start of "Life of Brian" where Brians mother gets a visit from the
wise men and receives the gifts from them she does not like the myrrh (sp?).
She seems to confuse it with some animal. Since english is not my native
language I do not understand it. Please explain it someone.
I have seen on TV, some years back, a sketch where a group of people, among
them John Cleese and Marty Feldman are sitting on a mountain side or in a
cave waiting for the doom. It will come in just a few minutes and John
Cleese is telling everyone how terrible it will be with fire and frogs
raining etc. They count down 5,4,3,2,1,0 and..........................
nothing happens. They look around a little and John says "Ok, same time next
week".
Where does this come from? I have checked the 1948 show but it is not on the
CD�s.
