I'm running under Slackware 14.0 currently, and have had no problems with new
users registering. The most recent one I saw in my quick glance at the user
file was in January 2015.

I think this is Mageia related; when I have some spare time and a machine to
try it, I will do a test setup and see what I can figure out.
