I haven't played with that model for so long, I was lucky to remember the
little trap door and reset button.  If I recall correctly, there's some
more switches and buttons there too.  One of the things that comes to mind
about your weird numbers is that a while back, there were a lot of mods
that used diodes to make these radios do things they weren't supposed to
do.  My IC3210 (dual bander) for instance, has been modified to TX out of
band by using diodes to switch things on there.  A diode was also either
used or eliminated (been so long since I did it, can't recall) to make it
a cross-band repeater.

The HR-2510 also has the swr/pwr/sig meter on it, plus output modulation.
All switchable, of course.  And of course, it's all mode with AM,FM,SSB &
CW.

Hmmmm. Sounds familiar.  I'll bet it's just a diode mod.
