On the contrary, the written tests have be expanded and require more
technical knowlege since the lowering of the Morse testing.  Morse never
did keep the riff-raff out as much as the technical aspects of those
tests.  It may have been a deterent to ward off the lazy, but anyone who
wanted to be a HAM never let a mere 5wpm stop them.

Your opinion of 'dumbed down' and 'CB mentality' vary from my opinion of
them.  We have all kinds of people who are in the hobby and even though
they may have come from the ranks of CB, they're not necessarily of that
mentality.  I've known people in that community who're way above a lot of
HAMs in their technical abilities.
