To be precise, it was.  The US government has already set some
dangerous precedent in the area of former officials and highly classified
documents.  For example, if instead of keeping paper copies, he had been
running his own server and keeping copies there, using a program like
Bleach Bit to get rid of them (rather than turn them over to the National
Archives, like he legally should have), and then claiming under oath that he
couldn't remember any of it because he'd recently been hit on the head, it
would probably be a non-issue... well, at least, it has worked for other,
non "MAGA fascists" officials before.

Oh yeah and, while housing the highly classified documents, that insecure
server got hacked at least once.

IMHO, it is something that *neither* of them should have been doing, but you
cannot expect people to get too excited about it if they know it's already
been done without any consequence.
