Sean,

I go to a podiatrist once a month or so, to get the toenails trimmed. I
have arthritis so bad throughout my body, that I can't bend over to get to
the feet, let alone squeeze the clippers. It had been a few months since I
had last had them trimmed, so they were starting to look like eagle talons;
but the podiatrist assured me that "he has seen longer ones". I have to pay
$65 for the trim, but it's worth it.

I've had several surgeries on my feet, as follows:

1) Arches built into them when I was 11 -- I was born without them. Had I
not had that surgery, I would've been in a wheelchair long before now.

2) Plantar fasciitis (bone spurs) in both feet, 11 years ago. I wore
special shoes for 6 weeks, and had both feet done at the same time. It's
the most common ailment podiatrists see.

3) Toenails removed off of 2 toes on each foot...both due to freak
accidents...never mind I'm such a klutz. <G> My late wife, Janice (who
you got to meet) got me a couple of T-shirts before she died, that noted:

FRONT: WARNING!! KLUTZ ON THE LOOSE!!
BACK: DANGER!! ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN!!

Her response?? "That's him!!". Nice to have the spouse so supportive. <G>
Every time I think of the front of the shirt, the tune of "Band On The Run"
pops into my head. :P

SD> I'm trying to get more active lately.  I'd love to get a Cubii
SD> (cubii.com; the little "stationary bicycle"-like device where you can
SD> pedal while sitting) and some hand weights to help fight this muscle
SD> wasting I have in my upper arms.

I had one of those little foot pedal deals, but the garage is still full
of stuff when I had to move back to the house 4 years ago, just before I
put my home in a nursing home, before her death 2 1/2 years ago. Yet, after
having hernia surgery a couple of years ago, I can't lift those boxes and
crates.

SD> It's good to keep working on my other projects in BBSing though to keep
SD> my mind active and fight off boredom.

Between editing a square dance publication and working on a square dance
related website, plus the BBS and ham radio, I certainly am not bored. Of
course, when there are thunderstorms in the area, I unplug everything and
try to get some sleep. There were 2 very close lightning strikes here the
other morning, that shook the house...I thought I was in an earthquake.

SD> Now if Social Security would quit bending me over the desk, I'd be
SD> great. Not having had an income for two years sucks.

I feel like that right now...on a diet of Buddig lunch meat sandwiches,
and Kroger's version of "lemon Koolaid"...not very nutritious. As the
tagline goes, "I'm only one step away from being rich...all I need is
money". <G>
