Don't beat yourself up about it.  It took me about four passes through the code
looking for *anything* that might be causing the problem, and then it suddenly
dawned on me.

Good point.  I should probably include something in the docs about that.  I
think it is likely operating system dependent, but I think that all of the
systems I tested it on here did have the TZ variable set.  Thanks again for
your help in testing and such.
