For news[groups], go to Options -> Send tab -> News Sending format and
select "Plain text" format.  Click on the "Plain Text Settings" button.
Under there, select "MIME" for message format and "None" for "Encode
text using".  Auto-wrap should be 76 characters, or less.  Remember that
replies to your posts will prepend your lines with ">" characters so
something less than 76, like 70, will allow several levels of replies
(before Outlook Express gets jerky with its poor line wrap function).

I did a quick online search and the driver sites only list Windows XP as
the earliest version.  Could be Epson never made Win2000 drivers for
that model.  You could try the WinXP drivers to see if those work.  If
the XP driver does not work then you'll have use the Add Printer wizard
to pick from a list of included printers (drivers that came with
Windows) to find a model that approximates yours.
