Hi Dave,
DD> My local daily got conglomerated by Gannet (USA Today) and has become
DD> a joke. We have a 40+ year old weekly (also available on-line) that
DD> keeps me abreast of what I need to know. For national/world news I
DD> have on-line subscriptions to both New York Time and Washington Post.
RH> We usually catch the national/world news on tc, and can get the weather
RH> reports. Looks like we will escape the current hurricane; it's taking
RH> an eastward bend. Beaches will have rip current dangers but probably
RH> not even wind/rain there and we're further inland.
DD> Dodged that bullet then.
This time around, yes. Located where we are, we usually don't get major
effects from a coastal storm, usually more rain (which produces local
flooding) and wind. Last fall's Helene gave us rain, but not as bad as
even a couple of hours west of us.
DD> 8<----- TRIM ----->8
DD> I looked at the expected track for Erin. You're gonna get wet. Bring
DD> your umbrella.
RH> Actually, not really. Looking at the expected path, it's supposed to
RH> turn eastward and not even give us much, if any, rain.
DD> As I said above. Climate is what we expect. Weather is what we get.
Right now it's a warm (mid 80s), somewhat muggy day. Not much rain
expected this week, even with the hurricane.
DD> This looks like a dandy if you like maple syrple - I'd use B'/rer
DD> Rabbit dark molasses in its place.
RH> It does look good; I'd keep the maple syrup tho.
DD> That's you. For some reason I have never cared for "tree blood". Be it
DD> on panquakes, or as an ingredient is sauces or even in candy. I've
DD> participated in making maple syrup, etc. and it's kinda neat. But
DD> something in the flavour just puts my teeth on edge.
Since I can't print Fido from this computer, I looked it up at the
source and printed it, will probably try it this fall.
