1/2 c Butter
1 ts Vanilla; for a plain cake
2/3 c Soft brown sugar or sucanat
2 c Whole wheat flour
1 ts Baking powder
1 1/2 c Milk
Cream the butter, vanilla, and sugar together. Sift the flour and
baking powder together and mix them with the butter and sugar. Stir
in the milk, and beat the mixture until it is smooth.
Pour into an oiled 8" diameter cake pan and bake at 350?F for at
least 25 minutes, or until cake is springy and not sticking to the
side of the pan.
