Yes, I've done Echolink mobile on the phone.  Works well while you've got
coverage, things can go horribly wrong when mobile coverage is unreliable,
because you usually need to use a proxy and a connecting timing out can leave
the proxy in a busy state, which takes around 10 minutes to clear.
