The older I get, the more I enjoy being in the sun. Ya, weird, right?

When sitting on the balcony, it's really hard to read text that uses a
dark color scheme -- like the text in my terminal. So, I am trying once
again to switch to a bright color scheme.

I tried that many times before and was always unhappy. The problem with
bright color schemes is the lack of contrast. There is a reason why
a lot of professional software (audio, CAD, ...) uses dark color
schemes.

Inspired by some screenshots on nixers.net, I came to think: Maybe when
using a bright color scheme, one should simply not use so many different
colors. Use bold, a bit of underline, more whitespace, better layout.
It's the same in "normal" typography, I guess: You very rarely see
colors in a book.

Maybe the terminal must be treated more like a book when using a bright
color scheme.
