My  blog  [1] started about nine years ago. This is a pretty long time
when it comes to web sites.

The biggest problem is that the PHP code is old and sucks. The data is
not  well  organized on the hard disk -- there should be one directory
for each blog post; instead,  everything  is  scattered.  Actually,  I
should  not  need  to run any PHP code on the server; I should convert
 everything to static HTML.

And then there's Gopher. To be honest, I'd  love  to  kick  everything
HTTP  from my server. But it's 2015. You can hardly reach anyone using
 only Gopher.

And, at the end of the day, a web site is like  a  portfolio.  If  you
want  to  get a job, a web site can help. Can a Gopher hole do that as
 well? I don't think so.

I'm not happy with  this  situation.  Maybe  the  best  option  is  to
gradually simplify the web site and the code behind it.
