Not much happening here lately. Simple reason: Too much work.

Remember last year? [1] This year, iPhones and iPads were ubiquitous.
Almost all family members were constantly tapping on their phones.
What did they do? They shared funny pictures and videos.
To me and my cousin (who just turned 18), this was very funny to
watch. Our parents always told us: "Put away that
$pieceoftechnology!" Now, today, on motherfucking christmas eve, a
fucking "holy family day", THEY used smartphones and tablet computers
all over the fucking place. They laughed, they had fun. It was normal
to them.
Do they finally understand? Do they finally understand that you DON'T
turn into a stupid pile of meat just because you're using a
smartphone?

Something spooky happened.
I used to have a computer called "video". I had a hosts entry for it.
Months ago, I stopped using that computer and I removed the hosts
entry. But I forgot to remove "video" from a list of hosts that I
"ping" on a regular basis to see if they're up.
Some minutes ago, "video" came back online. WTF? This can't be right.
It turns out, I got hit by [2]. There's a new TLD called ".video". To
alert users of name collisions, a DNS query for "video" now resolves
to 127.0.53.53:
1 $ dig video
2 ; <<>> DiG 9.9.2-P2 <<>> video
3 ;; global options: +cmd
4 ;; Got answer:
5 ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 37678

Phew. No undead computers lurking around.
