Sunday morning, cloudy sky, listening to the rain. Lovely.

Whow, it's getting heavier. Better close the window.

Finally  reinstalled  my  server  (the  one that's hosting this gopher
hole).  This means that there's *no* machine left running a 32 bit OS.
 Farewell, i686[1].

Coming  from  DOS  and Windows 3.0, I never used "mouse acceleration".
Back in these days, there simply was no acceleration feature. In  some
DOS  programs, the mouse didn't even work due to various reasons -- or
they simply had  no  mouse  support  at  all.  When  acceleration  was
introduced  in  Windows  2000  (or  XP?),  I immediatly turned it off.
Linear movement was what I was used to.

Thinking about my constant wrist pain. I  got  almost  rid  of  it  --
unless  I  have  to  use  the mouse a lot. I also noticed that it gets
worse when I have to do a lot of "micro movements",  like  aiming  for
tiny  GUI  elements.  This  made  me  rethink my mouse settings. Maybe
acceleration isn't that bad after all? In fact, it allows  you  to  do
micro  movements  *of the cursor* without having to do micro movements
*in real world*.  Essentially, mouse  acceleration  makes  your  mouse
*more tolerant to error* when moving slowly.

This is exactly what I need, isn't it? It allows my hand to move *less
precise* and thus avoid micro movements.

 Let's see if it helps.

On the other  hand,  I  never  tried  a  trackball  either.  Could  be
 interesting as well.
