I'm  currently  looking  for  a new wrist watch. My current one (Casio
WV-59E) is radio controlled and its battery dies within a few months.

However, it is merely impossible to find  a  reasonable  watch  for  a
reasonable price. Here's the feature list of my "ideal" watch:

    o Digital (no mechanical parts)

o Time (hour, minute, seconds, 24h format) and date (weekday, year,
month, day -- preferrably YYYY-MM-DD format)

o Easy to read, big display, no distractions

o No light (accidentally hit the button and you waste battery life)

o ... or at least "sunk" buttons

o Long battery life (several years)

We're  living  in  the  year  2012  now,  we  have  smart  phones  and
everything.  But there's no good watch. This is bizarre.

The  thing  is,  I  consider  my "ideal watch" to be a simple watch. I
don't think a watch like this is an expensive piece of hardware.  Now,
look at the watches out there:

o Cheap  watches are stuffed with useless features and are unusable
(you can barely read most of them)

o Simple watches with a clean display are extremely expensive

What the hell? Are you serious?

I just realized that  a  solar  panel  might  solve  (most  of)  those
problems.  Something like the Casio GW-7900-1ER. It's not cheap (about
120 EUR), though. I still think that  model  is  ugly  and  bulky  and
equipped with lots of useless crap, but, whatever.

Due  to  the solar panel, it's irrelevant if there's a light button or
other useless stuff. It should even  provide  the  watch  with  enough
power to comfortably do all the radio controlled stuff.

This  watch  is  far  from  "simple".  It's  not a K.I.S.S. device (as
 requested above). I'm tempted, though.
