Grub  legacy  got  deprecated[1]  upstream some time ago.  And it's no
 longer included in Arch Linux's base group[2].

 It's still in the AUR, of course, and you can still  use  it  if  it's
 already  installed. It will get a lot harder in the future, though: If
 you need help with something, people will point you to Grub 2.  And  I
 really,  really,  really  don't like Grub 2. It's so overly complex, I
 don't want to have *that* on my system. A bootloader  should  be  dead
 simple. Grub 2 is anything but simple. Sorry.

 So,  it's time for me to finally switch to syslinux on all systems and
 remove grub-legacy. While I was at it, I set a nice background  image.
 Yeah, that's pretty useless for a bootloader but whatever. Here's[3] a
