Morning!

It is always morning somewhere on the globe.

I have been away for a while, first I had to travel to see my familly and since I am back I need to do some work. It is adjusting a wordpress website for some NGO so that it fits the designers desires.
I don't like doing that, as they have chosen the software and the "theme" they want and it contains a terrible lot of unnecessary code, and does a lot of google petitions.
So if I want to be coherent, I would need to do a lot of work to remove it, and I will not be payied for that extra work. I am only learning it all now by doing, so it would take too much time that at the end I prefere to use for other things.
But yes, I feel torn.

I am thinking that I would like to investigate how to do easy google-free web that is easily transformable with css. Easy and nice. And eco-responsible. But it is never a priority to me.
I hope one day it will. I would like then to send this "ready to use" solution to FuckOffGoogle.
Probably it is some static page generator, like jekyll, hugo or nikola with font-face for fonts. Only to find a javascript free theme and test it.

I mean, it is OK to do things with javascript, but personally I like lightweight philosophy. And with just css you can make miracles. And it is generally more accessible for people who read/see websites by ear.

And also I like that visitors can chose if they want to inform google about every page they visit (which at the moment requires knowledge). I mean I would prefere it opt-in and not opt-out.

__Complaining done__, there are also nice things to share: I have installed Parabola linux on my (not-that-new) libreboot laptop. It was difficult, but as I was doing that with a friend, we managed to find all the solutions.
We have decided to do full disk encryption, mainly for learning purposes. And I have lost the fear of editing GRUB entries :)
It made me feel happy. And satisfied.

Another stimulating thing that happened recently is that finally I have found a reason to start learning programming. Or rather, a program that I find worth writing. So I have started my first python experiences.
It will be a NVC (non violent communication) simulator/assistant for cmd.

But I will talk about it next time...
