Today is a day worth marking. I've been listening together with my daughter on
Project Hail Mary for several months, only using the commute times. Today we
finished it the moment we arrived home. It was a good read. We both enjoyed it
through and through. She was very engaging. The moment we finished, I actually
got quite emotional, not only because of the ending, but also because this was
never something I could have imagined. When we first started, I didn't expect
she'd be drawn to it, since she's not much into science. But she was. I also
didn't expect that we'd finish it, as we didn't have that much commute time,
meaning it'd take very long, and I'd expected she'd given up mid-way, when the
story got boring. But it defied all my expectations and gave me a pleasant
suprise! I'm sure we built so much memeory together.
