Education
=========

i was talking  with somebody yesterday about my job  history, and how
I'm in the middle  of my 3rd career. And we got  to talking about the
relative  merits  of  the  traditional four  year  college  model  of
education, and how it's such an outdated thing.

1. At the age  of 18 you're supposed to know what  kind of career you
  want.

2. It  is built on the  assumption that you will  be doing *anything*
  for "the rest of your life"

3. It's a moral failure that the system destroys you financially

I really feel like a kind of dodged a bullet by not going to college.
I can think of  several times I was denied a  job interview because I
don't have  a degree,  but I  haven't suffered for  that in  the long
term, and  I'm seeing less  and less of  that kind of  gatekeeping as
time  goes on.  I  really do  believe that  people  would rather  see
experience and profeciency than a college certification.
