My first computer was a laptop that was old at the time back in the late
90s/early 00s. I installed Linux on it, which was an ordeal back then. Laptop
support was super shady. And the thing wasn't networked. I had to borrow my
Dad's ethernet card if I wanted to get online. So I had all my floppies all
lined up and ready to go, and several pages of instructions printed off from
linuxonlaptops. And eventually I had a working installation of a disto that
doesn't exist any more called Mandrake. I think now it's Mandriva? And for the
most part I had this non-networked behemouth of a laptop to explore. Brand new
to Linux, didn't know what I was doing.

Anyway, that machine had something like.. what, a 5mb hard drive?

and now I have this 250gb macbook and it's giving me messages that I'm almost
out of disk space, and I'm like, what happened to us?
