In the past few years, Februrary has been a month of rapidly changing
back and forth weather. Early February is when we get all those
strange snowstorms that shouldn't happen this far south. We had a few
days recently that got up to almost 80F, but it's back in the mid-30s
now. I'm just looking forward to the few weeks of nice weather we get
in spring before it's super hot until the fall.

After I woke up this morning, I spent a while browsing the nature
synth tag on Bandcamp. I've started getting into dungeon synth lately,
and there's just so much good music out there. I love
ambient/instrumental music and Bandcamp is just such a good place to
find it. It's amazing how many people are out there making great
things and putting them up for ridiculously reasonable prices. Now
that I have a job that pays decently, I can afford to buy albums and
pay more than the minimum price. It feels good to give money to
artists and I really want to do that more often.

In other news, the single-user mastodon server that I ran for a few
months is dead. I ran into a technical problem that I didn't have the
skills to fix, and honestly, I didn't use it that much anyway. I'm
just not that into social media? I learned plenty, though, so it
wasn't a waste or anything. Definitely a nicer place than when I used
Twitter all those years ago, but I never really feel the need to post
things and then I worry that I'm not properly engaging in the
community by not posting or whatever. Regardless, it's all gone
now. I'll think of something else to reuse that domain name for. I've
been meaning to get a gemini capsule set up for some time now, so
maybe I'll do that. The AWS (boo, I know) spot instance I was using
was actually really cheap, so I wouldn't feel bad about paying for a
server to run a gemini capsule that would get practically no
traffic.

I haven't been on tilde.town in a bit, but it's nice to know that it's
here and people here are chilling and being creative, like always. <3
